Four items to be aware of this week:

Leslie Vivastation Moving

Tomorrow the westbound Leslie Vivastation is being moved across the street, from the northwest corner of Leslie and Highway 7 to the northeast. This is, of course, to accomodate the construction of the rapidways along Highway 7. If you regularly board at this stop be prepared to cross the street starting tomorrow.

Route 15 on Detour

Also tomorrow, and like every Thursday until October, Route 15, Stouffville Local will be on detour between 12:00 and 8:00 pm to accommodate the Downtown Stouffville Farmer's Market. Buses will bypass Park Drive, remaining on Main Street for that portion of the trip.

Meetings

Today at 9:00 am York Region's Transportation Services Committee will be holding their monthly meeting at the Administrative Centre in Newmarket. Tomorrow the Rapid Transit Corporation board of directors will hold their monthly meeting there at 12:00 pm.

Bus Roadeo Champion Named

Finally, congratulations to York Region driver Mile Mitkovski, winner of the 2012 York Region YRT/Viva Bus Roadeo. Mr. Mitkovski will be representing the region at the 2013 International Bus Roadeo in Indianapolis next May.

Congratulations also to Frank Muir and and Dorell Atkinson, both of whom placed with honours in the competition.

From the American Public Transportation Association's page about the Roadeo:

This event encourages excellence and professionalism in bus operators and salutes the men and women who are the heart of our transit systems and who keep communities moving. Bus operators and maintenance teams vie in separate competitions involving safe driving skills and maintenance disciplines.
